RAINFALL INSURANCE SCHEME - COFFEE (RISC)

Press Meet on launch of Rainfall Insurance Scheme – Coffee (RISC) was held on 17.02.2009 at Meghdoot Auditorium, Bangalore GPO. Chief PMG and the Chairman cum Managing Director, Agricultural Insurance Company of India Ltd (AICIL) addressed the gathering. An MOU was signed with AICIL on the same day and the three coffee zones of Karnataka i.e., Hassan, Chikmagalur and Kodagu are selected for the pilot project. Training to the officials of the postal divisions at above places was imparted at Hassan and Kodagu on 19/20/21.02.2009. The scheme was implemented from 23.02.2009.
