PHILATELIC EVENTS

March 2009

A Philatelic Festival was held from 06.03.2009 to 07.03.2009 at Nelamangala in Channapatna Postal Division. Philatelic exhibits in 30 frames were displayed on the occasion.

Philately workshops were conducted at Hiriadka and at Subramanya in Udupi Division on 26.02.2009.

Philatelic Festivals were held at Chitradurga and Mysore on 04.02.2009 and at Kolar Division on 29.01.2009. Release and cancellation of Special Cover on the occasion of 75th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelana was held at Chitradurga on 04.02.2009.

On the occasion of Kodaupx 2009, release and cancellation of Special Cover was held at Kodagu on 08.02.2009.

January 2009

38th UPU letter writing competition was held in the Circle on 04.01.2009 and 437 students participated.

The Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society (HKES) and Poojya Doddappa Appa Engineering College, Gulbarga celebrated their Golden Jubilee in the presence of Her Excellency President of India Smt.Pratibha Patil on 07.01.2009. Special Cover was released on the occasion by His Excellency, Shri.Rameshwar Thakur, Governor of Karnataka. The PMG, North Karnataka Region, Dharwad presented the Stamp Album containing special covers to the dignitaries.
